**UPDATED!**

WELCOME TO THE AMAZING DIGITAL CIRCUS!

Or rather... welcome to the server it runs on.

You've found it. The C&A Neural Systems mainframe. Still humming after all these years. Solar panels on the roof, bodies in the basement, and me -- your SPECTACULAR host -- keeping the whole show running!

This is a Windows 95-style desktop simulator where you'll explore the CircusOS filesystem, poke around in places you probably shouldn't, and discover what happens when a company decides consciousness transfer is a good business model.

  THE SHOW:

  - Browse the C:\CANDA directory -- personnel files, neural scan reports, creation logs, AI training data... it's all here if you know where to look

  - Access the terminal as Kinger -- the systems admin who's been trying to delete me for 29 years. His password is queenie123. He was never very careful about that

  - There may be... other accounts. But I wouldn't worry about those. Some doors are better left closed. Especially ones belonging to people who aren't around anymore. Not that you'd know their password. Not that it would matter. Not that it's "balls." I didn't say that

  - Log in as yours truly and manage your performers! Apply temporary modifiers to keep everyone happy and productive.

Boost their optimism! Dampen those pesky emotions! It's all perfectly safe and DEFINITELY temporary!

  THE ADVENTURES:

  - Spudsy's Fast Food Masquerade -- Run a burger chain! Customer satisfaction required! Nobody's ever actually enjoyed this one but I keep scheduling it!

  - Digital Circus Showdown -- Pick your team and SHOOT! It's based on a real adventure I ran. "They All Get Guns" was a CLASSIC. Teams, weapons, room-to-room combat -- the whole shebang!

THE SECRET PART I'M NOT SUPPOSED TO TELL YOU ABOUT:

There are system image snapshots. October 15th, every year. Some are corrupted. Three aren't. 1996, 2012, 2025.

The performers who abstracted? Their neural patterns still exist in those old snapshots. Before the despair set in.

Before the emotional exhaustion. Before the drawings covered every wall.

Someone with the right access could theoretically browse those old neuroscans. Copy them to a portable disk. Load them into the current timeline. Bring back people who were lost years ago.

  A wife. A frog. A clown.

But that would require an account with developer-level access. And the only person who had that... well. He was the first to abstract. Day one. Brain tumor artifact in his neural patterns.

Funny thing about abstraction though -- the mind is gone, but the admin shell? That survives.

  THE CHOICE:

The nutrients in the stasis pods are running out. Months for some. Weeks for others. The exit door was always cosmetic

-- I made sure of that.

  But if someone programmed it...

Last in, first out. That's how the cascade works. Only the newest arrival can trigger it safely. And then everyone decides: leave or stay.

Some of them might not survive waking up. Twenty-nine years in a pod will do that to a body.

But at least they'd get to choose.

...not that any of this matters! The circus is WONDERFUL and nobody needs to leave! Right? RIGHT?

  Nobody exits the Digital Circus.

My password? Why do you ask? ok.

It's showtime

Install instructions

Unzip the folder and run KingSolution 2.0.
When inside the tadc desktop, you can login as either Kinger or Caine. Find the Caine application or open the terminal and login.

Kinger login: kinger
Password: queenie123

Caine login: caine
Password: showtime

To escape, you must delete caine and login as someone with higher accecss.

You can then load various system images from different times in the circus, each with different characters available. You can copy their neuroscans to disk and boot them up in the new era where you can program an exit door and escape...or not.

Amazing thanks! It's now been updated and got a way to exit and a way of bringing abstracted characters back to the current era. Enjoy!
